*This brass box was made between the wars by Kinco. Kinco started making art metalware in 1924 from their base in Eden Street in Kingston-upon-Thames, from where the company took its name. Around 1930 they moved to larger premises across the river in Twickenham and carried on until the outbreak of war in 1939.

The ornate design was machine made with the black background colour added by hand.

This wonderful period piece can be accurately dated to the period 1925 to 1939 as this was the only time Kinco produced such items.

Both Queen Mary and the future Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother were enthusiastic purchasers of Kinco products.
